Opening speech by Klaus Lachwitz at the 2012 IASSID World Congress

2012 IASSID World Congress took place in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada from July 9-14.

The Congress was very successful, with approximately 800 delegates from around the world in attendance, and more than a dozen plenary speakers. The President of Inclusion Interntional, Klaus Lachwitz was one of the key note speaker at the opening plenary. To read his speech click here. More than 250 concurrent symposia featuring approximately 700 speakers took place across 12 tracks, and scholars also made 120 poster presentations.  The net result was a thought-provoking Congress that brought to light a great deal of new research in the field of intellectual disabilities.
