The Rosemary F. Dybwad International Fellowship Trust
Dr. Gunnar Dybwad and his wife Dr. Rosemary Dybwad committed their lives' work to promoting and fighting for the civil rights and self determination of persons with intellectual disabilities around the globe. They were amongst the founders of Inclusion International. In 1978 Gunnar Dybwad became the President of Inclusion International until 1982. The Rosemary F. Dybwad International Fellowship Trust was established in her tribute. The Rosemary F. Dybwad International Fellowship Trust has provided travel/study grants to advance and broaden international understanding of programs and services to persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Dybwad Trust can best be summed up in the words of Rosemary’s beloved husband and colleague, Gunnar Dybwad: “The grass roots experience of international study and mutual learning are the opportunities of a lifetime. For so many of us, they have helped to bring the world a little closer.”
