NewsCall for evidence to the Joint Committee on Human Rights in the United Kingdom.[Last updated Thursday, June 14, 2007] Inclusion International has recently submitted a call for evidence to the Joint Committee on Human Rights in the United Kingdom. This submission provides an international context for the issues of exclusion and marginalization faced by people with intellectual disabilities and their families worldwide. Our submission uses the findings from our recently completed Global Report: Hear Our Voices to reaffirm the voices of families and self-advocates whose knowledge about poverty and exclusion comes from first-hand experiences. The personal stories of our self-advocates are invaluable in the creation of real strategies geared at eliminating poverty and breaking the associated cycle of exclusion. |
