World Health Assembly resolution calls on WHO to assist Member States in developing policies on disability and rehabilitation

The WHA resolution entitled, Disability, including prevention, management and rehabilitation," calls on WHO to work towards ensuring equal opportunities and promotion of human rights for people with disabilities, especially those who are poor. Romanian Government chooses to respect human rights for people with disabilities

Inclusion International Denounces “the Ashley Treatment”

The “Ashley Treatment” is the name being given to a collection of medical interventions including hysterectomy, breast bud removal and the use of hormone treatment to stunt growth and stop development into adulthood. Sterilization of girls with intellectual disabilities in Thailand

A number of women with intellectual disabilities are sterilized in their adolescence in Thailand. It seems many medical professionals, as a standard practice, advise parents of girls with intellectual disabilities to have their children sterilized and many parents follow this advice.
